Full Details

Oak Cross House is a fine architecturally designed and superbly extended, contemporary house situated in a fantastic location in the much-desired village of Cheriton Bishop, found on the edge of Dartmoor National Park and within easy access to Exeter and Okehampton.

This exclusive five double bedroom detached house was built in 2011 to a high specification by an established local builder and is both spacious and immaculately presented throughout with over 2,100sqft of living accommodation.

The accommodation begins with the spacious entrance hallway. The kitchen is fully equipped with integrated Bosch appliances including built in double electric ‘eye level ovens’, four ring ceramic hob, dishwasher and fridge, plus oak worktops and a feature central island unit with useful utility room and downstairs cloakroom. Beyond the kitchen is the dining area with a feature window and opening to the sitting room with a wood-burner, dual aspect windows and double-glazed doors to the rear garden. There is a super self-contained extension built at the end of 2014 / beginning of 2015. Leading from the main sitting room, this provides a family room / office on the ground floor with double glass doors to the garden and with staircase leading up to a lovely private bedroom with its own large en-suite / wet room having views over the Moor. A self-contained annexe could easily be created by simply adding a kitchen.

The main staircase leads to the first floor where you will find a lovely galleried landing leading to the four main spacious bedrooms with the master offering an en-suite shower room. A separate family bath and shower room completes the main first floor accommodation. The property also benefits from underfloor heating to the majority of the ground floor with traditional radiators to all of upstairs.

Externally, there is ample gated off-road parking on the impressive brick paviour driveway. There is access to the rear through a side gate where you will find the enclosed, private and level lawned garden with terrace and area laid to decking ideal for ‘al fresco’ entertaining and dining. The high quality large Dunster House summer house provides an ideal office space or sitting area too.

The village is ideally placed for hassle free access to the A30 dual carriageway, a direct injection into Exeter (10 miles) and a great route west to Cornwall. Facilities include an Ofsted rated 'Good' primary school, a parish church, a family friendly pub, and a Medical Centre.
