We hope that the images do the talking for this amazing village home but it is a real knockout house within a lovely Mid-Devon community. The house is very pretty with a rendered front elevation and exposed stone gable end and will appeal to those looking for both inside and outside space yet not in a remote location. The house has lovely views over the church, which is just across the village road.

Internally, the house is very much as one would expect from the outside, large rooms sizes, plenty of light through the large sash windows and views over the garden and over the rooftops to Dartmoor in the far distance. The garden is also private which is great for such a central location. In the garden is a detached stone barn with huge potential to do something with if desired. Currently, it offers a lovely covered seating area (which doubles as a pretty wood store!) and the remainder of the barn is over two storeys. The uses of this barn are endless and, subject to permissions, would make an excellent annexe or home office, or just as a workshop/store as it is now.

DIRECTIONS : From the A377 at Lapford Cross, proceed up the hill and into the village. Beckets House will be found on the right, just opposite the church.

Lapford is a large village, beyond Morchard Road on the A377 – 9 miles from Crediton and 16 miles from the City of Exeter. Like most Devon parishes, it’s not far from a lovely collection of trees – Eggesford Forest is just up the way, a regal coniferous plantation that plays host to variety of creatures including adders, butterflies, buzzards and woodpeckers (and badgers!). The village itself has a primary school with an excellent Ofsted report, sizeable playing fields (with a football pitch and kid-friendly playground) and a busy pub – The Old Malt Scoop Inn, once a 16th Century coaching inn – which now offers an à la carte dining experience, using only the best local produce.
