Full Details

It’s fairly unusual to find a cottage, full of character with a great garden and plenty of space within the town but this property doesn’t disappoint. Mill Street is one of the older streets in the town and parts of the cottage are believed to date back to the late 1700’s. You’ll be pleased to know that although plenty has changed for modern day living, there are still lots of exposed timbers, nooks and crannies and of course, a wonderful wood burner in the living room. As one would expect, there is gas fired central heating and double glazing (it’s not listed).

Internally, a useful passage runs front to back meaning there is a useful store for coats, shoes and even bikes plus access to the rear garden without going through the house itself. This also gives a nice buffer from the living room to the front. The living room has exposed timbers and a lovely wood burner set into a fireplace and then the kitchen/diner leads off towards the rear. Another couple of very “nice to haves” are a ground floor WC and a walk in larder. There is a window overlooking the garden and double doors take you into a garden room, a light bright space that would suit varying uses as a playroom, dining room or a study or studio space.

On the first floor are 2 bedrooms and the bathroom, plus a study area and the stairs to the second floor. The top floor is home to a master bedroom with roof lights and an open plan ensuite bath area. It is a real escape and the character has been well maintained into this space too with exposed timbers.

Outside, the rear garden is approx. 70ft long and initially, steps lead up to a then level lawn with raised beds, paved areas and plenty of room to enjoy a garden of this size. At the end of the garden is a block built studio or office (approx. 5m x 2.2m) and an a lean-to wood store alongside. Access to the garden is from the side passageway or from the garden room.

Please note there is no allocated parking with the property but there is on street parking nearby.

Please see the floorplan for room sizes.

CREDITON : An ancient market town, with a contemporary feel – only a short, 20-minute drive NW from the city of Exeter. Set in the Vale of the River Creedy, amongst gentle, rolling hills and verdant pastures. Sincerely picture postcard. Once the capital of Devon, Crediton is famed for its inspiring sandstone church and for being the birthplace of Saint Boniface in 680 AD. Its high street is a vibrant place, abuzz with trade –artisan coffee shops, roaring pubs, a farmers’ market and bakeries, jam-packed with mouthwatering delights. For those commuting it has hassle free transport links into Exeter and for schooling a prestigious community college (Queen Elizabeth’s) – with an Ofsted “outstanding” sixth form. In addition, it boasts a brilliant gym & leisure centre for New Year’s resolutions, two supermarkets for the weekly shop and a trading estate for any practical needs. All neatly held in a single valley.
