We're Hiring: Rental Administrator

Position Filled 🙂

We manage over 320 rental properties across Mid Devon. The Rental Administrator is the person who keeps it all running smoothly, working alongside our lettings and sales teams to make sure tenancies are set up properly, tenants and landlords are looked after, and nothing falls through the cracks.

You will be the first point of contact for tenants, landlords, applicants, and contractors. Some days that means processing tenancy applications and chasing references. Other days it means fielding calls, booking viewings, coordinating maintenance, and making sure every bit of paperwork is where it should be. No two days are the same, and that is what makes it a good job.

What you will be doing

  • Answering calls and greeting visitors professionally and warmly
  • Managing property viewings, gathering feedback, and keeping the diary accurate
  • Processing tenancy applications including referencing, right-to-rent checks, deposit registration, and drafting agreements
  • Preparing compliant start-of-tenancy packs and ensuring all legally required documents are issued correctly
  • Coordinating property marketing, including arranging photography and floorplans
  • Handling internet enquiries and responding to leads promptly
  • Liaising with contractors to arrange maintenance and keeping records up to date
  • Supporting the sales team with applicant registration, viewings, and buyer/vendor communication
  • Maintaining accurate records across our CRM in line with GDPR requirements
  • Keeping on top of compliance with current lettings legislation including the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, deposit protection, gas and electrical safety, EPCs, and more

What we are looking for

You will need:

  • Proven admin experience and strong organisational skills
  • A confident, professional telephone manner
  • Good attention to detail (the kind of person who spots the mistake before it becomes a problem)
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to stay calm and friendly when juggling multiple priorities
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C/4 or above

It would be a bonus if you also have:

  • An interest in property and the local housing market
  • Experience with CRM or property management software
  • An understanding of the lettings or sales process
  • Previous customer service experience
  • A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

The details

  • Salary: £28,000 per annum
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, plus occasional Saturday Mornings (on a rota basis)
  • Location: Office-based in Crediton with occasional travel for appointments
