A Compassionate Journey: Supporting An Elderly Seller Through Every Step

The Challenge: In the heart of Devon, a lovely elderly lady faced the daunting task of moving home after the sad loss of her husband. Without internet access and the comfort of modern communication methods, she needed a more traditional, hands-on approach. This is where we stepped in, proving that while we embrace modern technology, our roots in traditional, personal service run deep.

Helmores' Personal Touch: Our seller's situation required a special touch, something beyond emails and online forms. Our welcoming office provided a lovely environment for her to come in and chat in a warm, comforting environment where we were able to discuss her needs and concerns in complete privacy.

We had some 20 plus viewings, all managed by ourselves, meaning our seller could relax, knowing her home was being shown by someone who understood its value and could convey that to potential buyers.  Our familiarity and consistency provided a sense of security and trust, crucial during such an emotionally challenging time.

After a sale was agreed, Loren, our sales progressor, took the helm. Selling a home involves many legalities and paperwork, which can be overwhelming at the best of times, let alone during a period of grief. Loren's role was not just about managing the sale; it was about providing a comforting, guiding presence, holding our seller's hand through each step, ensuring she never felt alone.  Loren even arranged her removals with local company Rose Removals after she was let down by another company at the 11th hour.

The Outcome: Our goal was to shield the seller from the hassle, allowing her to focus on moving forward.  She's now happily settled in her new home, relieved and grateful for the support that made her move possible during a very challenging time.
