The Dream Move from London to Devon: Overcoming Obstacles with Innovation

The Beginning: A couple from London had long dreamed of escaping the rat race and moving to Devon. They found their dream home on our YouTube channel - a beautiful thatched cottage in mid Devon, surrounded by open farmland. Perfect! The video tour was so compelling that they fell in love with the property and, after visiting the cottage, an asking price sale was agreed.

Challenges Along the Way: The cottage hadn't been sold for many years, which meant there were quite a few hurdles to overcome before the sale could go through. First up, there were issues with the private drainage system which needed dealing with. Then, a bigger challenge surfaced: the property wasn't registered at the Land Registry, a potential deal-breaker.

Innovative Solutions: We didn't let these challenges slow things down. We used drone technology and mapping software to accurately map out the property's boundaries, creating a detailed plan that could be sent off to the Land Registry. This crucial step was all done in-house, avoiding long delays and complications that outsourcing might have caused.

Navigating the Sale: The survey brought up a few more problems, but after some local specialists had visited the property and some renegotiation, we were able to keep the sale on track.

The Outcome: The buyers are now happily settled in their dream thatched cottage, surrounded by the stunning Devon countryside. All the problem that arose from selling a very old thatched cottage (and there were many!) were dealt with.
